Do you know your cheddar from your gouda, your pale ales from your IPA’s? We’re here to help you learn a bit more about all things beery and cheesy. Beer and cheese are two of our favourite things, they’re a match made in heaven and if you join us on one of our pairing evening’s you’ll see why. Each event we will select a local brewery, five of their best beers and we’ll curate a selection of five outstanding Irish cheeses to pair them with. We’ll take you through a bit of the history of cheese, the cheesemakers who’ve produced what you’ll be eating and the styles themselves as well as learning about the breweries and the beers that will help these cheeses shine in a fun and informal setting.
This month Heaney Farmhouse Brewery. Mal, Suz and Coxy have helped shape Heaney into one of the islands most exciting breweries, from their interpretation of some of the more iconic tradition styles like their Red, Blonde and Irish Stout to the big hazy hop bombs and imperial stouts on their seasonal and special release calendar. Based on the Heaney family farm in Bellaghy where the world famous poet Seamus lived and worked and producing some of the best beer around, we couldn’t be more excited to be partnering up Mal’s beers with some of our favourite cheeses. Do not miss this one.
