MV, Abismmo and Banana Block presents the premiere screening of the short film ‘How to be an artist while the world falls apart'
Directed by visual artist Lindsay Mead and exploring the artistic practice of the painter Paes, in Belfast, NI. The event takes place at Banana Block on Wednesday 20 October from 6 to 8 pm and admission is free
In addition to the screening, the artist is organising a pop-up exhibition featuring a selection of his small- and large-scale works. The film was shot between July and December 2025 and follows Paes through the streets of Belfast and at work in his studio, whilst he reflects on his memories, his career, inspirations and the experience of being an immigrant artist.
