Banana Block is proud to present a diverse programme throughout 4th- 10th March that raises the Visibility of Women in our local communities.
The international theme this year is #Break The Bias and in Banana Block we’re looking at the theme is Visibility in relation to this.

Through our events and exhibition we will profile everyday women and their roles, challenges and successes in Northern Ireland.

The programming varies from challenging subjects like Domestic Abuse to the roots and history of IWD as a protest born out of the Labour movement in 1908( with links to 1932 protest Yes!We have no bananas!) in our banner making workshop hosted by Jacky Sheridan,to meeting the women of Banana Block in our Meet the Bunch lunchtime talks and a workshop with the Green East, an exhibition of posters celebrating Art,Music and Activism with a profile on Sound Advice founder Marion Hawkes and it will round off with a Kamayan Supper Club produced by the fabulous all female team at Kubo.
Visibility and #Breakthebias is our goal through participation, community building, learnings through lived experiences through Women’s own words and voices.
